The Vintage Speedcar Assn (Qld) Inc is proud to announce that our ninth annual Vintage Speedcar Spectacular will be a day/night show at the famous Brisbane Exhibition Speedway Grounds on Saturday September 11th.

Gates open to the public at 1.00pm, Official Opening at 2.00pm, Grand Parade at 2.45 pm followed by Demonstration runs until 9.30pm.

Special feature of this years show will be a dedication to Holden powered speedcars with a parade of these cars at 6.30pm -  under lights !

The Spectacular is an Invitation only event for bona-fide Vintage Speedcars and Vintage Solo Motorcycles. For more information regarding the requirements for participation, contact Bob Rogers (07) 3283 2858 work or (07) 3283 2533 home, or Barry Wixted (07) 3849 2626 home (after hours).

In May this year whilst on holidays in the U.S, VSAQ member Ray Priddey took the opportunity to drive, and experience first hand a drive in an Indy Race Car, on the 2.5 mile historic Hallowed Indianapolis Motor Speedway  track.   The car that Ray drove, was previovly driven by Juan Pablo Montoya at Indy, when he won the Indianapolis 500 in the year 2000. with a Ganassi race team.at an average speed of 167.607 M.P.H.....Ray drove this car over three laps,at an average speed of 103 M.P.H. This car is restricted to a top speed of 130. M.P.H.   Not being satisfied with the single drive, he then had the experience of a Two- Seater Ride, to experience speeds and g-forces previously available to only a handful of elite drivers.The Dallara chassis has been stretched to fit a passenger behind the driver, but in every other way is a true Indy Series car. Guaranteed to reach a speed in-excess of 180 M.P.H. for a ride of two laps, by professional drivers such as Davey Hamilton or Stephen Gregoire.   Since his experience I'm finding Ray has never been the same, he still has this massive smile on his face!   One would think he had just won the  2010 Indy 500. ......Expensive??...No just priceless!!!
